We need to discuss what we're going to do about meeting facilities. I recall it was pointed out that we need to try to regain our meeting spot at the Library if possible.

Shannon reported that Stephanie cancelled the library reservation. I forget who (3 people?) made reservations for the next 12 Saturdays at 10am under the name Occupy Tulsa General Assembly.

The Accounting and the Visions workgroups met at the library on Saturday at 10am. When we go there, the library staff informed us that Stephanie had cancelled the OT standing reservation for the room. They werre also nice enough to allow us to make a copy of the cancellation form (even after asking if any of us were Stephanie or Brian Lewis - the two names on the form).
When we asked about creating a new OT reservation for the room, we were told that would depend on whether any other group had already been placed on a waiting list for the room. Unfortunately the weekend staff did not have access to the waiting lists. So we'll have to wait and see.
We filled out and submitted the request form for every Saturday morning at 10am, starting Jan 7th, 2012. We didn't specify Dec 24th or Dec 31st because they told us it would take one to two weeks to process the request.
We listed two contact people, myself and Shannon. I don't know if the library contacted Shannon today, but they did not contact me. I suspect it might take a few days.
As soon as we hear from them, we will let everyone know. In the meantime, perhaps we should brainstorm other places just in case another group already has dibs on the library room.

You should also be proactive and bug them once a day until we get word.

Also I am under the understanding that Peace of Mind bookstore might be willing to allow meetings there..

I haven't heard back from them and I feel it would be rude to bother them when we have been informed that it will take a couple of weeks to process.

Oh, a couple of weeks, I see. In that case, I recommend still checking in once a week up to the expiration of that time and then every day or two. I've learned the hard way that often persistence is the only way to get things done.
As for the Piece of Mind bookstore, do they know that we're talking about a circle of more than 30 people? Do they have that much room?

Well more than 30 people for peace of mind maybe not but I'm sure they could accommodate work-groups.

I realize that not everyone wants to be out in the weather, but I am still of the opinion that all GAs should be held at Solidarity Square.

For now they will be, but I personally don't think it's necessary in the long run. Solidarity Square is a forum for action. Decision-making can be done anywhere. Jeopardizing health for symbolism isn't recommended, jeopardizing health for action, however, is a different matter.

Please see the notes from the 12/21 GA. There was no discussion of moving the Wednesday night GAs. As noted above, 2 people did speak with the library and request reservations for Saturday at Rudisill and are waiting to hear back.
For the next 2 Saturdays, 12/24 & 12/31 at 10am, Cheri & Gary have graciously volunteered to allow us to use a classroom at Phillips Seminary at 401 Mingo. Hopefully we'll hear back from the library by that time so we can make future arrangements.

Quick correction, the seminary is at 901 N. Mingo, not 401 N. Mingo (I think I said it wrong in GA last night). Here's a link to dirving directions: ptstulsa.edu/CampusLocationAnd here's a link to Google Maps: maps.google.com/maps?q=901+N.+Mingo+Road+tulsa,+ok&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ll=36.173773,-95.868673&spn=0.030555,0.053215&z=14&iwloc=addr We can park in the front parking lot and enter through the main entrance which is just under the bell tower that has the sign saying Phillips Theological Seminary. Since classes are out for the winter break, we'll be the only ones there, besides security. See you all on Sat. ps -- still waiting to hear from the library.
