Stephanie is the spokesperson for that group and she needs to be addressed with the local media. But we need to decide what to do about it as a group.

darnit. We need to send out a press release that states Lewis and Lee do not speak for Occupy Tulsa. Have at least 30 people sign it. Because they can only muster 3 old dudes to sign their document trash, if we really wanted to push our our petition I could get a couple hundred supporters to sign it.

Agree 100% Frank, and I think this should be agenda item #1 for the GA, before any time is spent on individual cases like Dan, etc. But I think the main emphasis should be on identifying the spokespeople who ARE authorized to speak on behalf of the GA. Media types live and die by "sources," and they'll need a name or two with contact info. Without any alternative sources, they'll keep returning to the same old rock stars.

"The group held a blanket drive for a local animal shelter and also donated work boots to transient men seeking work last week, Lewis said."
Just WHEN did OT hold a "blanket drive" for pets. Or was it the "Cookie Party" that Stephanie Lewis held last Saturday afternoon and asked the few people who attended to bring used blankets so she could give to either a (1) animal shelter, or (2) poor people. She later asked two of her guests on FB where they wanted their blankets to go, as she forgot to ask them at the cookie party. Was this the OccupyTulsa event? In other words, when is it Lewis' self-promotion and when is it an OT action? I would have found it far more commendable if she (or preferably a better spokesperson) had told of the meeting of many Oklahoma occupations down in Oklahoma City at the same time as Lewis' cookie dough party. But she did well in deflecting that story.
